Patisserie Claire

So recently I visited this amazing cupcake heaven called Patisserie Claire. This lovely patisserie is based in Milnerton Cape Town and specializes in cakes, pastries and tarts that will make you run back for more! I had the privilege to meet Claire, the sweet and talented pastry chef responsible for making sweet delightful cupcakes like the...

Hummingbird
A super-moist pineapple and banana cupcake with pineapple crush and vanilla frosting, topped with coconut flakes.

Death by Chocolate
Dark chocolate cupcake with chocolate butter-cream frosting.

Vanilla Clouds
A vanilla cupcake with a marshmallow-like meringue frosting.

Rocky Road
Dark chocolate cupcake, topped with toasted almond flakes, glace cherries, mini marshmallows, coconut flakes and drizzled with chocolate. And also the...

Apple Maple
An apple, maple and pecan flavoured cupcake, topped with a maple buttercream frosting and dried apple butterflies. For more varieties click here.

The beautiful blue-eyed Claire's a  real creative soul and have put her hands to many different crafts. After some years within the corporate world, Claire made the decision to follow her heart to become a Pastry Chef.  At the age of 28, she gave up her job and went back to studying full time. She graduated with distinctions in both her local and international (City & Guilds) exams and was the Patisserie Graduate of the Year. Wowzer, what a go-getter!
Cupcake heaven! I love this cute and girly decor... :)
Adorable shades of pink everywhere... My happy place!
Colourful delights from shortbread to belgian chocolate brownies. Oh yum!

Melt in the mouth deliciousness! For more information hop over to Patisserie Claire.

My Pretty Vintage

Just the other day I came across this beautiful little gemstone in Milnerton, Cape Town called My Pretty Vintage. They stock these stunning cake-stands, teacups and other pretty things to hire for basically any event. They do from weddings to birthdays, baby showers, hen parties, kitchen tea's and they also offer a full service of decor set up and floral design, and they customise any vinyl or hand written signs. Pretty amazing, hey! :)
I totally love that oh-so-pretty cake-stand... And look at that cute mug jersey! :)
Such creativity, I adore the lace around the glass bottle.
They really have such a beautiful variety of teacups. For more info visit their website here.

Chocolate Fudge & Winter Sun

Everything is still going well this side, I'm still having so much fun in the beautiful city of Cape Town. What I have learned so far is that this city never sleeps! ;)
I love spending time at food markets... Had a great time at The Market on the Wharf.
They had this heavenly Sweet Dreams handmade fudge in double chocolate. Mmmm...
Me enjoying the winter sun at The V&A Waterfront!
With my flamboyant cousin, Richard Theron. Such a fun spirited soul!
Me in nerdy glasses. Haha! Do you think it suits me? ;)
Love this beautiful view from the Strand. Had an awesome walk along the beach...

Photo Shoots & Nail-polish

After hustling like crazy and going to interviews everyday I've managed to find this amazing new job. I really love it and at last I can say PHEWWWWWWW! I've also found this inspiring church within walking distance from me... I love the powerful word that they bring and the change that it brings into my life, but apart from that I've also....

  •  Been painting my nails in this sweet shade of mint. This brand is really cheap and although it doesn't last very long I would still go back for the equally cute lavender shade they have...  Essence Colour & Go in That's what I mint! - R21 at Clicks

  •  Visited Typo and drooled. I love this place so much and I cant wait to go back. They have the cutest notebooks, stamps, clocks, pencil cases etc... Actually need to create a special monthly Typo budget. ;)

  •  Had a relaxing walk along the Sea Point promenade... I adore nature and the stillness it brings to the mind.

  • Attended a pampering photo shoot. Don't ask how I've managed to do this, just know its for a big fashion magazine and that I will feature in it around September. I had so much fun dressing up in high end, expensive labels! :)

The Old Biscuit Mill

This past Saturday me and my sister were privileged to visit The Old Biscuit Mill in 373, Albert Road, Woodstock in Cape Town. I've read so many great reviews in magazines and blogs so I had to check this place out for myself. And I wasn't disappointed at all. It's a vibey place with an excellent food market and you'll find delicious fresh produce ranging from bread, cheese, beer, chocolate, smoothies and stunning handmade gifts. There's also numerous little shops with beautiful, heart fluttering books, tins, crockery and other art. And it's crawling with hipsters, carefree, stylish, creative personalities and very, very handsome men! ;) There's no way to fully describe this amazing experience, you'll have to see it for yourself!

This was my experience...
 1. Sweet and decadent... I bought some chocolate macaroons and I almost fainted! Divine.
 2. Savoury bliss... So many options, kinda like a food and wine tasting.
 3. Fresh produce... Loved those olives, and the bread, and the cheese... ;)
 4. Handmade delights... These creative shops had the cutest things.
 5. Sister love... Had a great time sharing this with my pretty little sis, Venessa.
6. Overall stunning... Cant wait to go back. Saturdays from 9am to 2pm.

Moments of Splendour

Well so far I've had an awesome time in Cape Town, apart from the fact that my ex-long term boyfriend now wants to rekindle things... After a month! Eeek! Is it vain to say that I'm the kinda girl a guy would want to come back for... Well, lets just say that before I make any hasty decisions I will first have loads of fun! ;)

So here's a photo diary of what I've been up to so far...
1. I've been indulging in Cape Malay doughnuts, pizza and bubbly a whole lot. And this yummy fat pieces of scrumptious calamari, yum! Feel like Elizabeth Gilbert from the book Eat, Pray, Love... ;)
 2. I've hooked up with my best friend Bianca from school, now that was an awesome big surprise... It felt real good to reconnect with someone that knows you so well. And she basically lives around the corner from me. She's still the humble, sweet girl she used to be.
 3. I've had a lovely time at The V&A Waterfront, went on a little boat around the harbour and I took loads of pictures. There's so many places I still want to visit. Would love to check out The Old Biscuit Mill and The Fairview Wine and Cheese Estate.
4. And I spoiled myself with bath-bombs and shower gel from Lush. Yay! Love their The Olive Branch shower gel... Now I understand the Lush hype. ;) I also bought myself a huge pot of that delicious Chocomania Body Butter from The Body Shop.
